a walk in the park with the browns . . .

I love that I have begun this photography journey for many reasons but one very special reason is that it gives me an opportunity to hang out and reconnect with old friends.  I love seeing their sweet little families interact and laugh, as well as, being a part of these moments that my friends will get to cherish forever.  I had a blast taking pictures for my friend Taylor, her husband Shane, and her two stepdaughters.  Typically I find myself surrounded by kiddos ten years old and younger, so it was somewhat refreshing and quite entertaining to be around the pre-teen/teenager stage.  Taylor, thanks for inviting me along to take a stroll in the park with your adorable family.  Here are a few of my favorite moments . . .

family photos with the howards

Melt my heart into a million pieces. These two are 2/9 of my pride and joy and I just love getting to spend this time with them.  Every look little Hallie gives my brother is just precious.  As aunt Nana my heart explodes with love when I see this beautiful family laughing and carrying on as they watch ducks splashing in the pond and as they climb to the tops of trees.  I love that in these moments I have captured Henry's sweet zest for life and Hallie's happy-go-lucky, sassy personality.  Love them all.  These are a few of my favorite moments….

a playdate and cake smash with the schardein's

This photo session was special because this sweet coworker joined the Harmony Elementary family last year and since we taught two different grades, I didn't have many encounters with her.  I loved getting to know her two little ones, Emily and James during the session and watching the family laugh, play and (at times) cry. This smash cake event will always go down in history as one of the most eventful.  Precious James has quite a few food allergies so Rachel was busy all summer finding a recipe that would fit his needs and be somewhat tasty for the little guy on his big day.   So it was somewhat heartbreaking after all of her hard work when we sat James in front of his cake and it was like he immediately knew he wanted no part of that thing.  We tried to get him to taste it… no.  We tried to put his hand in it… not having it.  We tried everything.  Then mommy saved the day by bringing out one of his favorites…. a graham cracker.  That's all he wanted.  A graham cracker.  Sweet Rachel, I admire your work on that cake and I thought it looked lovely! I think it's a good sign that you're going to have a laid back kiddo.  :)  These are a few of my favorites . . .
